Hill Country

One of the most scenic and cool locations in the island, the Hill Country is a wonderful area to get away from the busy hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy what Sri Lanka is world famous for, tea.

Home to magnificent plantations like Tea Trails boutique bungalows now open for luxury travellers to enjoy everything that tea planters did in their hay day. The Horton Plains, one of the many unique characteristics of the Hill Country, is a haven for a variety of wildlife and also is the location for the World’ End that has breathtaking views of mountain tops covered in mist and clouds and if you get up early enough you might just get lucky and see a wild leopard. With the weather being cool and misty most of the year, it is a great place to cuddle up by a fireplace in a villa or private colonial restored bungalow being brought hot chocolate by a butler. If you want something more active, there will be many things that will keep you occupied from horse racing in the season to white water rafting.
